Star Wars news...

So according to the UK newspaper, The Express, it was said with on of Disney's sources that they plan to bring back Vader in the new trilogy. Call me crazy, but wasn't he burned into ashes at the end of Return of the Jedi? Oh yeah that's right, he was.

Breaking Star Wars News...

I assure you this blog isn't turning into a solely Star Wars blog, it's just...well in the nerd world, that's really big topic.

So having said , guess who contradicted himself in the news today? Harrison Ford. Han Solo himself said he would love to be coming back, and is very interested in playing his first huge role once again. I say he contradicted himself because not only but barley a year ago this same man said he would never play Han Solo again, by choice. But he would though be interested in once again playing the iconic Deckard in Blade Runner once again, which now may also be a possibility. Anyhow, Ford along with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher also have expressed interest in coming back to this larger then life series.

While the cast is being worked out, so is behind the camera talent. Mathew Vaughn, director of such films like Kick-Ass, and X-Men First Class, is rumored to be the future director of Star Wars Episode 7. He recently dropped out of directing the sequels to both of the films listed above, and many believe Star Wars is the reason why. A writer has yet to be announced or rumored. Stay tuned...

Star Wars Episode 7: A New Dawn?...

In an apparent leaked email from an insider at LucasFilm an apparent title for the new film has been released as well as two different emails about the details of the two new Star Wars trilogies . Look below for the two quoted emails.

"The movies I told you about are indeed the primary focus. Luke Skywalker is a primary focus, as are many of the original trilogy cast," the email read. "I never explained to you that they were being rewritten from previously secret drafts from way back during the making of the original trilogy. You will see a tone more in line with the original trilogy, and specifically featuring that cast, if everything shakes out as intended. Which it will, I promise you."
"Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 are I am assured to feature prominently in the new trilogy, as was always the idea. Apparently some have already been approached. Quite a while back too to my understanding. Hamill is a certainty."
According to Lucas the reason for not producing these two trilogies is that technology wasn't quite there.

Stay tuned for more news up dates on ye olde Star Wars.

Star Wars News Update and Personal Opinion...

The world of nerdism and americas film backbone was shifted and nearly broken as the internet was bombarded with activity towards the new future of Star Wars. If you're reading this, you know what has gone down. Ye olde George Lucas has sold his previously (for about 35 years) 100% owned by himself, company Lucasfilm LTD to Walt Disney. Yes this is indeed huge news, even more interesting he sold it for about 4.05 Billion dollars. More importantly than money, is the future of the franchise, which was clearly Lucas’s concern as well. He was quoted saying that he’d like the series to carry on to a new generation of filmmakers, it clearly makes him proud of what he has created. Kathleen Kennedy, who was appointed co-chairman and CEO of Lucasfilm earlier this year , is now “in charge” of producing the new Star Wars films. Lucas, Kennedy and Disney have all stated there is indeed a “Star Wars 7” to be released in 2015. It will apparently be part of a new trilogy , in which the sequels to “7” will be released periodically over the course of 5 years after. It seems as if there is to be no cap on the series any more. For better or worse we will indeed be seeing more Star Wars. Logically almost all the fanboys rose in rage at the news of Disney  owning their childhood as well as the fact that there is to be a new trilogy. I’m torn. I’ll start with my nerd rage opinion first. We fanboys are still in recovering from Episode 1 and Episode 2, I understand that Episode was indeed a pretty great film, and I may go as far to say I like it more The Return of the Jedi. I’m sorry, just not a good follow up to one of the best Sci-Fi films ever, The Empire Strikes Back. Anyhow, why would we want more films to tarnish what we love even more? If the new trilogy is bad we will have lost our ground in the battle against those Lord of the Rings fanboy freaks, as well as those Kilingon loving Trekkies. But, there is a valid argument against what i just said. I believe more in what I’m about to say, I think creating a new trilogy is a good idea. Which can also be done very right and frankly i think it will be. Star Wars is timeless, it is more than a series of films, it is the basis for all sci-fi sagas, film or any sort of entertainment. If they do this, continue this series, Star Wars will never die. Which is something that none of us want. It won’t happen now. I think the way they should approach this is creating an entirely new, un related to the previous characters of the other films. They should create new characters, a new story , only moderately related to the characters, minor characters, or maybe the droids. It should take place, chronologically after Jedi, but a good time after the fact. Create new villains, a new character story arc. Maybe so those who love the original trilogy, can watch a Star Wars where they don’t know the outcome of over 50% of the characters. You cannot say that this wouldn't be fun. Add good actors, a good script from a good new screenwriter , and a great director (Paul Thomas Anderson? He said he wants to make big budget films, now is his chance,). Some good can come out of this. Luckily Disney said they are not going to adapt any of the novel’s or comic book’s stories. But in bad news, there is a rumor that Hamil was told 7, 8, and 9 are going to follow Skywalker between ages 30 -40, but will not have Hamil playing Luke. Yeash... I don’t know about that. It’s possible all of this will burn Star Wars to the ground, or raise it for more generations to come......I swear though if they mess this up.
